The Resurrection of Lazarus - Squadrelli Mausoleum - Monumental Cemetery

Inaugurated in 1866, just shortly after the Unification of Italy of which recurs this year the 150th anniversary, Milan’s Cimitero Monumentale is one of the most beautiful graveyards in the world. Besides admiring tombs of great artistic value you will get acquainted with the names of the Gotha of the industrial, financing and banking capitalism, together with composers, poets, writers of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. A beautiful life-size bronze reinterpretation of Leonardo’s Last Supper can also be admired.
Advisable for those who having visited the pyramids, the tombs of Petra Valley or the catacombs in Rome believe that cemeteries reveal much more than just people’s fear of death. Cod. 016-MNMCM
