Giovanni Bellini - Lamentation (Pinacoteca of Brera)

The artists' district of Brera is a maze of narrow cobblestone alleys where you can savour the feel of what hectic and busy Milan used to be when carriages were the most popular means of transport. You will find out that Brera had a reputation of debauchery up to just the mid 20th century and that the gentrification of the neighbourhood has turned it into one of the trendiest, although still bohemian, districts in town. But Brera is historically associated to the Pinacoteca, a small-scale but exceptionally beautiful museum where the greatest masters of Italian Renassiance such as Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Piero della Francesca, Raffaello can be admired. Cod. 016- BRBR
