“LEONARDO, A GENIUS AT COURT”

After visiting  Leonardo’s Last Supper and adjacent Cloister of St. Maria delle Grazie with it’s sumptuous major chapel, planned by  architect Bramante to celebrate the glories of Duke Ludovico il Moro, who envisaged it as his family’s grand mausoleum, we will reach with a pleasant 15 minute walk the Sforza Castle.  Built merely as a stronghold, this quite impressive military structure became in the 15th century see of Milan’s court and residence to the Sforza ducal family. Patrons of art, the Sforzas employed several prominent artists but Leonardo da Vinci was their jewel in the crown for almost two decades. This tour will  highlight the multidisciplinary skills of the Florentine genius and his accomplisments for the ruler of Milan Ludovico Sforza.

ENGLISH guided tour. Duration: h.2.00 (including a total of approximately 15’ walking time)
